 The Lotus Temple, also known as the Bahá'í House of Worship, is an architectural masterpiece located within New Delhi, India and dedicated to the followers of the Bahá'í Faith – a religion that was founded in Iran in the 18th century. The distinctive lotus-shaped design of the Lotus Temple is a famous tourist attraction and a spiritual destination for believers and tourists alike.


The Lotus Temple was designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, who won an international competition in the year 1980 to build a Bahá'í House of Worship. In 1986, the Lotus Temple was completed and is an important landmark in Delhi.
